Mike Rumble

About Mike Rumble
Mike Rumble is the founder of Trauma Resilient Professionals. He is a medically retired helicopter paramedic with over 20 years of front‑line and air ambulance experience, now focused on mental health training, consultation, and support for first responders, public safety, and healthcare professionals.
Mike combines lived experience in emergency services with graduate‑level training in counselling psychology and a life-long comittment to helping others. He is a current volunteer with Boots on the Ground, the Royal Canadian Legion, and a training partner with Canada Beyond the Blue.

Lived experience
Mike spent more than two decades in emergency services, including ground and air ambulance roles. He has worked alongside police, fire, paramedic, military, and hospital teams in urban, rural, and remote environments.
He previously worked in forensic mental health, where he saw firsthand how systems respond when people are in crisis, and how those systems impact the staff who keep them running. These experiences shape the way he understands risk, responsibility, and the realities of front‑line work.

Approach and style
Mike’s approach is straightforward, collaborative, and trauma‑informed. He aims to create conversations where first responders and healthcare professionals don’t have to translate their world before they can start talking about what’s hard.
He draws on evidence‑informed frameworks from trauma, resilience, and cognitive‑behavioural approaches, but keeps the focus on practical tools and understanding what matters most to the person or organization in front of him. In training, Mike prioritizes cultural fit, clear language, and respect for operational constraints.
